Phuket, Thailand, Fall 2009

There's nothing like a little elephant walk on the beach! In Thailand, we met two new friends on the beach in Phuket, Lilly and Lucky, two young elephants who came by daily with their trainer to eat fruits and play with the kids.

Lucky could do some awesome poses for the camera!

Jessica was lucky enough to get a gentle back massage from Lilly.

Everyone loves getting their photo taken with a poser.

Just bring along some food and they will surely be your friends. Did you know elephants love to eat bananas? They eat the peel and all. They eat whole carrots and whole apples in a single bite!

They also love to swim in the beach. It is a scream to see them rolling around in the waves!

They are always escorted by their kind trainers who take extra special care of them.

The sunsets in Thailand just cannot be beat.

And the beach was nice, too!

The Sheraton Laguna had some beautiful grounds and gardens.

They make the best fried shrimp in the world at the seaside restaurant just off the beach. They also have good shopping and beach-side massage.

The gardens are lovely.

The sun in Phuket is hot - so try to keep cool and drink plenty of water - Lucky will show you the way!

Ta da!
